137 Martini

We’ve created a beaut of a cocktail for you to have at home.
Traditionally made using a combination of gin, sweet vermouth and either triple sec or orange curacao we’ve adapted this serve to best suit our products.

Using the very latest batch of our award winning London Dry gin, we’ve chosen to steep the spirit post-distillation in the very same Spanish dried orange peel that goes in as a botanical for 8 hours, to create a gin and curacao hybrid that requires no added sugar. While Orange Curacao was originally made by steeping the Lahara Orange only found on the Caribbean island of Curacao, we hope our twist of using the dried orange peel from Murcia, Spain is a fitting tribute to the gin itself. Further to this, we’ve added both sweet and dry vermouth – both by our friends at Bramley and Gage to give what we believe to be the perfect balance of juniper, citrus and dryness for this iconic cocktail.

137 Gin presents…The Newbury Martini.

Designing a perfect martini with our range has been on the agenda for some time, and we’re glad the extra research has paid off.
Originally entitled ‘The Newbury’ Cocktail, it was an absolute no-brainer we needed to do a fresh take on this little known serve. After all, Newbury is home to 137 Gin which was born in The Newbury Pub where our master distiller Pete Lumber is also landlord. 137 Gin is the first craft gin distillery in our wonderful little market town so after discovering this cocktail’s existence we had to get this into production.

Whether you are a shaker or a stirrer, our 137 Newbury Martini needs nothing more than sufficient chilling, a touch of dilution from fresh ice, and a simple lemon peel garnish, expressed into the serve at your discretion.
